How early do you start teaching Piano Lessons to Children?

As a professional Music Educator, I am asked this question all the time.

Frankly, I never base starting a student on their age.   Some children are 'ready' when they are 3 and 4 years old.  I always ask a parent "Can you read a book with them and they sit still for 15 - 30 minutes?

If the answer is "yes", then I can generally engage a child into learning the JOY of music and start them on Piano / Keyboard lessons.

To me there is nothing like watching a child develop their musical abilities.  I currently have a precious 5 year old girl who has the makings of a beautiful, natural voice and enjoys playing and singing at the same time.

As a parent, you will witness first hand how engaging your child into music will enhance everything they do including reading, science, math, social skills, poise, confidence....just to name a few.   You can read a recent testimony of one of my families at www.MUSICBYARTSCOTT.com

If you do not currently have a piano, you can start off either renting one or a starter keyboard is only around $149.
